What Is Phase Two Treatment?

When orthodontic treatment is started at an early age for children, it occurs in two stages. The first stage occurs when a child is about seven years old and still has baby teeth.

As this video explains, phase two of treatment takes place a few years later, when most or all of the adult teeth have erupted. Many cases will only require treatment in phase two, but children should still be evaluated to create an orthodontic history early on.
